Project Overview
Sunbeth Global Concept’s Internal Control Department required a modernized, centralized digital framework to manage operational, financial, and compliance exceptions. The objective of the Exception Tracker System is to replace manual data collection with a custom-built, automated solution that accelerates resolution timelines and converts raw compliance data into strategic business foresight. The solution combines custom Microsoft Power Apps for secure frontline data capture, Power Automate for background workflow logic, and interactive Power BI dashboards for executive-level oversight. Together with a structured SharePoint back-end, the architecture establishes a single source of truth for all internal control processes, complete with role-based access controls and enterprise audit security.
Solution
A three-phase implementation plan was developed to deliver an end-to-end exception management platform: Phase 1 – Custom Power Apps Development: Built an intuitive, user-friendly interface optimized for specific user groups to capture and manage exception logs, backed by seamless integration with Microsoft SharePoint Lists for structured storage. Phase 2 – Power Automate & Logic Integration: Configured automated backend flows to generate unique exception Log IDs upon submission, trigger instant email notifications, and direct approval requests through defined workflow channels. Phase 3 – Power BI Dashboard & Analytics: Constructed interactive dashboards connected directly to live system data, enabling real-time KPI tracking, cross-functional reporting, dynamic slicers, and secure distribution via the Power BI Service. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Integrated dedicated login, authentication, and authorization layers to restrict data access according to end-user roles and internal control hierarchies. Structured Delivery & Support: Planned an 8-week rollout encompassing Discovery (1 wk), Development (5 wks), Testing & Training (1 wk), Launch (1 wk), and 1 week of dedicated post-deployment performance monitoring
